ead_promo_2011This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.

The cosy, low-ceilinged dining space is small and intimate, with pictures on the walls, a kitsch cabinet filled with the glasses and a wide open door opening onto the busy kitchen. From there, hisses, aromas and shouts all pour out. Also seen going in and out of said door is the host and owner – and the true star of the show – Dennis. The food is,  home-cooked cuisine: such as cod stuffed with a prawn and scallop mouse or a supreme of chicken stuffed with l haggis and served with a whisky and mushroom cream sauce.  Desserts, such as the thick slab of lime cheesecake with mixed fruit coulis, are usually home-made.

High point: Nice food and a warm welcome

Low point: More home than haute cuisine

thelist2008-09This little eatery has the feel of a But and Ben and is all the more surreal for being tucked away at the wild end of  Whiteinch, Dumbarton Road. A small dining room with low roof, stone walls and an open door to the busy kitchen contribute to the air of hospitality ..
